A 15-year-old Indian schoolboy has left friends and family astonished by his hyper-flexibility – earning himself the nickname ‘Rubber Man’.
Hailing from Punjab in the north of India, Jaspreet Singh Kalra’s signature moves include bending his legs so far backwards that they rest on his shoulders and rotating his head 180 degrees so he is facing backwards.
Jaspreet says he feels no pain when holding such poses and now has his sights set on emulating and even surpassing the feats of his hero, American-based contortionist Daniel Browning Smith, who currently holds the title of the world’s most flexible person.
His school chums treat him as a superstar. So what does his mum think about Jaspreet’s mind-bending body? ‘He was just 11 when we found out that he can twist his arms, neck, legs, back and in fact his whole body in a very unusual way,’ she recalls. ‘I feel good when neighbours and friends call my son Rubber Man. It’s a very unique title.’
An appearance on India’s Got Talent awaits and then who knows, maybe his mum’s dream will come true – that the whole world should know her son’s name. Watch the video and you certainly won’t forget what he can do with his amazingly rubbery body.
