For most mums picking their child up from school or visiting the playground is just part of a daily routine. But for Cara Anaya, the school run is a nightmare as she suffers from a rare condition which causes her to endure up to six hours of sexual arousal a day.

The 30-year-old suffers from Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD) and on a bad day can have more than 180 orgasms in just two hours.

Mum-of-one Cara was diagnosed with the incurable condition three years ago and will have spontaneous orgasms in the supermarket, on the school run and even in the playground. Cara, who lives in Arizona, USA, with her husband Tony Carlisi, 34, and young son Merrick, says doctors have been unable to help her and it is ruining her life.

It all started when Cara was shopping one afternoon and found herself suddenly and inexplicably sexually aroused. So much so that she found herself on the floor. What followed was a series of crippling, unstimulated orgasms.

Having been diagnosed with PGAD, Cara now understands what was happening to her. ‘You’re never satisfied,’ she explains. ‘I’m tired, exhausted…but I know another one is going to hit.’ She says she can have two or three in a minute.

Her condition has put a strain on her relationship with her husband Tony. ‘I thought she was crazy – I didn’t believe her,’ he admits. ‘The most difficult thing is seeing my wife in pain and there’s nothing I can do to help her.’

The mum has struggled to come to terms with her condition for three years and has become reclusive due to the stress of public situations. She says that being around children is especially difficult as it just feels ‘wrong’. ‘I feel like a pervert,’ she explains.

Despite seeking help from experts, Cara remains without a treatment for her condition. Desperately, she feels her relationship with her son is suffering as she can’t be a normal mum. And Tony is even fearful that Cara’s plight will end up causing her to take her own life.

‘It’s not something I’d wish on anybody,’ Cara says.
