From the seemingly normal to the outright crazy, the “serial killer” has many guises. Throughout history, many have tried to justify or explain their actions and mindset, leading to some of the most unsettling and famous serial killer quotes of all time.

Bundy, known for his good looks, charm and articulate manner, raped, tortured and then murdered his female victims – and frequently went back to visit the bodies. He’d often pretend to have a broken leg in a cast, asking women for help with loading items into his car. He’d then beat them over the head and bundle them into his infamous VW Bug. The exact number of killings is not known, but is suspected to be far higher than the 30 he confessed to before his execution in 1989. Of all the famous serial killer quotes, Bundy is known for many as he enjoyed speaking directly with the press and considered himself an authority on serial killers.

“I separated the joints, the arm joints, the leg joints, and had to do two boilings. I think I used four boxes of Soilex for each one, put in the upper portion of the body and boiled that for about two hours and then the lower portion for another two hours. The Soilex removes all the flesh, turns it into a jelly like-like substance and it just rinses off. Then I laid the clean bones in a light bleach solution, left them there for a day and spread them out on either newspaper or cloth and let them dry for about a week in the bedroom.”
