It’s the time of year when we all start thinking about having a big spring clean. Why not spring clean your life as well as your home? Our handy guide will have you ship shape in no time!

1. Have a Facebook friend cull

You’ll find you’re friends with people on Facebook you barely know, or don’t actually like. If you wouldn’t hang out with them in real life then delete them from your virtual one!

2. Audit your wardrobe

You know those clothes at the back of your wardrobe you haven’t worn in years? Get rid of them once and for all. Don’t keep clothes you don’t like, or don’t fit into anymore. Sure, you might change your mind or size, but you can’t keep everything you’ve ever owned just on the off chance! Sell them on eBay, take them to charity, or give them to friends – just get them out of your life for good!

3. Clear out that junk drawer

You know, that one stuffed with batteries that may or may not work, old useless chargers and general stuff that doesn’t have a home. Get rid of anything you don’t need and organise the rest. You’ll be glad you got rid of your drawer of shame!

4. Toss anything broken, or damaged beyond repair

Why are you STILL keeping it? You’d intended to fix it, but that was years ago and you’ve since bought a replacement. Some things just aren’t worth keeping. They’re collecting dust and taking up premium space in your home.

5. Learn a new skill

Whether it’s knitting, sewing, or baking, learning something new will broaden your horizons. You never know, you might find it life-changing too!

6. Do something you wouldn’t normally do

Go rock climbing, clay pigeon shooting, or anything else you’d never normally consider doing. It’ll feel great to do something out of your comfort zone.

7. Find a new signature dish

We all have certain things we cook really well, but why not try to find a new go-to recipe to wow your friends with? Any excuse for a dinner party!

8. Find a form of exercise you actually like

Whether it’s zumba or jazzercise, find something you actually enjoy. Exercising doesn’t have to be a chore!

9. Make time for your friends

Even if it’s just a quick coffee, catching up with friends is a must.

10. Have an unsubscribing session

How many emails do you get that are actually relevant? Take some time to go through and unsubscribe from those junk emails you get ALL the time that clog up your inbox.

11. Have a digital spring clean

Your computer needs clearing out every now and then too! Delete all those old files you don’t need and empty your trash! You’ll be surprised how much extra memory you’ll have once you’re done!

12. Delete old phone contacts

Have a look through your contacts list. You’ll find people you aren’t in touch with, along with some names you don’t even remember! Delete anyone and anything you don’t need in your life.
