1. Count Dracula in Dracula

Misquote: ‘I want to suck your blood!’

Actual movie quote: It was never said by Bela Lugosi in the move Dracula, 1931. But it WAS used for humour in Tim Burton’s 1994 movie Ed Wood.


2. Lady in Lou in She Done Him Wrong

Misquote: Come up and see me sometime.

Actual movie quote: Why don’t you come up sometime ‘n see me?


3. Gordon Gekko in Wall Street

Misquote: ‘Greed is good.’

Actual movie quote: ‘The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works.’


4. The Wicked Queen in Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Misquote: ‘Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?’

Actual movie quote: ‘Magic Mirror on the Wall, who is the Fairest one of all?’


5. Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back

Misquote: ‘Luke I am your father’

Actual movie quote: ‘No, I am your father.’


6. Bert Harris in Blonde Crazy

Misquote: ‘You dirty rat!’

Actual movie quote: The closest James Cagney ever came to saying this was, ‘Mmm, that dirty, double-crossin’ rat.’


7. Rick Blaine in Casablanca

Misquote: ‘Play it again, Sam.’

Actual movie quote: In Casablanca, Ingrid Bergman says to pianist Dooley Wilson, ‘Play it, Sam. Play As Time Goes By’ – while the closest Humphrey Bogart ever gets is: ‘You played it for her, you can play it for me. If she can stand it, I can. Play it!’


8. Tarzan in Tarzan

Misquote: Me Tarzan, you Jane!

Actual movie quote: Never said!
