We’re back with five more irritants we want rid of! There’s no place for these in our world – so chuck ’em in the room! See if you agree or disagree with our choices…
1. Men wearing smart jackets and jeans
Come on, chaps! When you’re wearing a grown-up suit-type jacket and tie, at least put on a decent pair of smart slacks! If you were trying to look cool and hip by pairing a business-looking outfit with jeans, you’ve failed and now you’ve just ended up looking a bit like a dad desperately trying to be down with the kids! And, by the way ladies, we find the following clothing faux pas just as annoying…
2. Women wearing dresses with trainers
It might be that the reason for the ensemble we find so irritating is that the ladies guilty of doing this have a long way to walk and find running shoes comfortable. But we know from experience that it’s perfectly possible to find a comfy pair of smart shoes that you’ll be able to easily stroll a decent distance in. So, if you’re trying to look the business, then ditch the dodgy gym footwear, it sticks out like a sore thumb against your fierce frock!
3. Hard-to-close lunchboxes
There’s something about some plastic lunchboxes that make them almost impossible to shut! You get the lid closed on one side and then it pops open on the other. You wrestle to get that part of it shut and, hey presto, another part of the box is now opening! By the time you’ve got your lunch inside, you’ll be late for work. You were trying to save money by taking in your own food – but that won’t work if you end up getting sacked!
4. Whites that aren’t white any more
You never put your white washing in with anything that isn’t also white, so how does it manage to go off-colour? Talk about 50 shades of grey! You even use that special powder that’s supposed to keep your whites bright. Well, it didn’t. And now, blowing in the breeze on your washing line are some sad-looking briefs that definitely look like they’ve seen better days. Just how did they end up looking so sorry for themselves?
5. Bar staff who don’t know who’s next
It’s bad enough queuing to get to the front in a busy bar or club, but then when you do, it’s infuriating if the person serving completely bypasses you and serves somebody who’s pushed in. You’ve been in boozers where staff are brilliant at keeping on eye on who’s turn it is and then serving people in the order that they were queuing. This is an important skill that you feel is part of the job and that all bar workers should possess.
Join us again next week for five more things we want to put into Room 101…
