Even stars can get spooked - here are a few celebs who've had a ghostly rendezvous.
1. Ghostbuster Gaga
Singer Lady Gaga spent £3,000 on electromagnetic field sweepers to remove evil spirits and bad energy before The Monster Ball concert in London. She also held a seance to get rid of one particular ghost, named Ryan. Ryan wasn’t violent, but Ms Gaga said he was annoying because he wouldn’t leave her alone and she was becoming ‘freaked out’ by his presence.
2. Mr McC’s chills
When hunky actor Matthew McConaughey first moved into his Hollywood home, he heard a strange noise, like a coin being dropped from a great height. When he went to investigate, he met a ghost he called Madame Blue. The lady spook was stark naked – and so was Mr McConaughey. But the two got along just fine, and Matthew said the Madame was a ‘cool ghost’, who shared his love of nudity.
3. Keanu believe it?
As young boy, Keanu Reeves saw a double-breasted white suit walk into a room in his New Jersey home. Weirdly, there were no body or legs in the suit and Keanu was convinced it was a ghost. Both he and his sister saw this apparition, which then disappeared before their eyes. Keanu says he still sees the figure in his dreams.
4. Kesha gets creepy
‘It scared me but that’s part of the fun.’ That’s electro-pop singer Kesha describing her sexual tryst with a ghost. Kesha says she was living in a ‘flophouse’ in California and there was a weird energy at night that kept waking her up. The energy progressed into a dark, sexual spirit and…well, whatever happened, it inspired Kesha to write the song Supernatural.
5. Sting in the tale
The former Police-man Sting encountered a ghost who appeared in his bedroom at his very old house. Sting says he woke up about 3am, sat bolt upright and saw a woman in the corner, holding a baby. He thought it was his wife Trudie, with one of their children. But when he reached out in the bed, there was Trudie, still sleeping beside him…
6. Meatloaf meets mayhem
Production of Meatloaf’s Bat Out Of Hell album was beset by ghosts. During recording in a Woodstock studio, Meatloaf says he saw a white woman waft pass his window…and then disappear. 7. Telly’s terror
When Kojak star Telly Savalas’ car ran out of petrol, a man in a black Cadillac pulled up and offered him a lift. The driver also lent him a dollar, which Mr Savalas insisted he would pay back, so he asked the stranger to write down his name and phone number. When he called the next day, a woman answered and confirmed the man was her husband…but he’d been dead for three years! When Telly showed her the paper with the number on, she said it was her late hubby’s handwriting. And the clothes Telly described the man wearing? Exactly like the ones he’d been buried in.
