Gold-medal fever! The Rio Olympics completely overshadowed the start of the new football season, which isn’t surprising considering that Team GB set an Olympic record by winning 67 medals at the Rio 2016 Games, two more than they managed at London 2012. Incredible!

2. What were you inking?

It’s almost as if more of the population have permanent artwork on their bodies than those who don’t. Some tatts are classy and attractive…and some not so. What has this otherwise handsome man done to himself?

3. Arch rivals

Women’s eyebrows are suddenly almost identical. They all form a perfect arch and don’t look real. Trouble is, although they’ve been painstakingly groomed in a salon, they’re no longer unique.

4. Scorchio!

Temperatures soared and people didn’t know how to handle it! Every pub garden was packed and Pimm’s became very popular. But, on the downside, there was lots of moaning about it being muggy and how it was impossible to sleep because of the humidity.

5. Very crafty

Talking of pubs, we’ve noticed that a lot of boozers are buying from micro brewers, and a lot of ales now seem to be called Craft Beers. Sure, there’s a craft involved in producing the amber nectar, just that we’ve never really thought that hard about it before. Sorry beer-makers, we know you’re very creative!

6. Going for a thong…

The heat this August meant more and more people were wearing flip-flops and we suddenly noticed the amount of noise they make. It was especially apparent when wearers went walkabout around the office, flip-flopping their way loudly past you.

7. Holey moley

In the 80s, jeans had more holes than denim. Then, more recently, little knee slits were on-trend. Now, there’s no pattern whatsoever and random holes just pop up anywhere on the garment with no real pattern or purpose. And people BUY them like that.
