Ghostbuster Rowlands offers an online video workshop to learn how to clear earthbound spirits and negative energies from your home. The course costs £65 and consists of 12 video lessons that you can complete at your own pace. Unless of course, something’s breathing down your neck…

If you fancy yourself a bit of a fortune-teller, enrol at the School of the Modern Mystic. It’s an online facility to improve intuitive abilities, run by no-nonsense Aussie Belinda Davidson. It has three modules of in-depth training in clairvoyance, including chakra-readings and ‘white-light’ healing. The course costs £595 and takes six months to complete. If you haven’t kick-started your psychic gifts within 45 days, there is a full refund – and that’s a promise, not a prediction.

Knowing you’re in a dream and being able to influence its direction. You can do this if you sign up to the Lucid Dreaming course at the Awake Academy website. It’s run by Buddhist and UK hip-hop artist Charlie Morley – he says lucid dreaming is fun, as it often involves flying, but it can also heal the body of physical ailments or emotional trauma. Morley’s 7-week online course costs £60 and involves 60 lessons with 5 hours of content. Not for insomniacs.

It’s 18 feet high, 14 feet wide and shaped like a rugby ball. That’s what your aura looks like, according to Gregg Prescott, host of the In5D spiritual radio show in the States. Prescott says all of us have colourful inner and outer auras and he has a simple technique on his website to see both. Once you’ve mastered this skill, Prescott can teach you how to see auras in other people, and eventually trees and flowers. A trip to the park will never be the same.

5. Talk to animals

Woof woof! Meow! Grrr… it’s difficult deciphering what your pet is trying to tell you. Dawn Baumann Brunke can help. She’s an Alaskan animal communicator who has shared dialogue with all types of animals: domestic, wild, even those in spirit form. Through Skype telephone calls, Brunke tunes in telepathically to your pet and translates their thoughts and feelings. The one-hour calls cost £50 and should bring a deeper understanding of the relationship between you and your pet. But you’ll still have to take it for a walk.

6. Communicate with your unborn child

Many mums-to-be sing or play music to their unborn baby but therapist Kelly Meehan believes communication with your bump can go even deeper – to your baby’s very soul. In her Cosmic Pregnancy course, mums learn how to connect spiritually with their babies and tune into the messages they are sending. Meehan runs 4 weekly tele-classes on Skype – these are recorded on MP3s to keep for review, along with a downloadable journal to share with your child after birth. Total cost is £150 and includes an hour-long personal phone call. With the teacher, not your baby.

7. Become a priestess

Jesus was married and had three children with his wife Mary Magdalene, who lived her last years in the south of France. That’s according to Margaret Hunt, who has developed a Magdalene Priestess training course online. Eight classes at £20 each are available as audio downloads, covering subjects like working with crystals, shape-shifting and astral flight to other planets. Pupils must also write a 2,000-word essay that is checked by Hunt, a former teacher. The initiation ceremony is held in Glastonbury – travel expenses extra.
