You know that feeling, the one like you're 8 years old again? Isn't it brilliant?! Whether it's Christmas or an advert for Walt Disney World, there's always times when your inner child is guaranteed to make a welcome appearance… Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!
1. A toy shop
Try as you might, no-one can resist the aisles and aisles of Barbie, Hot Wheels, superheroes, My Little Pony, soft toys – the list just goes on and on. It takes all our strength not to run up and down each gangway screaming, ‘I want this…and that…and this… Ooooooh, and THAT!’
2. Christmas morning
C’mon, hands up who still leaves out a carrot and mince pie the night before… And who still shouts ‘He’s been, he’s been!’ as soon as you open your eyes on December 25th… The carefully-wrapped presents under the tree are enough to awaken everyone’s inner child.
3. A birthday
Getting older isn’t always fun, but blowing out the candles on a birthday cake always makes us feel like a massive child. And the higher the age, the more candles, right? You’ll always hear a 5-year- old scream ‘Again, again!’ after each round of Happy Birthday, and we bet most grown-ups are thinking exactly the same thing.
4. A pantomine
Calls of ‘He’s behind you!’ and ‘Booooooo…hissssssss!’ are commonplace at the festive panto, and we all know it’s not just the little ones making all the noise. We just can’t help ourselves! And when that one kid gets invited on stage, that hidden littl’un inside your soul will be turning green with envy.
5. A fairground
Rollercoasters, carousels, bumper cars, big wheels – just which one can we go on first? And how many times can we keep going round, and round, and round, and round?! Once the kiddy dizziness subsides, a massive stick of candy floss and a Slush Puppy are the only ways to end a carefree day in the sunshine.
Can you think of any more?
