Jean Alexander, 90, played the much-loved Hilda Ogden on Coronation Street between 1964 and 1987. She died in hospital 3 days after her 90th birthday.
Gene Wilder – August 29th
Gene, best known for playing Willy Wonka in the 1971 film, died from complications connected to Alzheimer’s aged 83.

74 year old Jefferson Airplane guitarist, singer and songwriter died from multiple organ failure and septic shock after suffering a heart attack days before. He was one of the founding members and a driving force behind the popular 60s psychedelic rock band. His former bandmate Signe Toly Anderson also died on the same day aged 74.
