We’re not talking Z-listers who’ve launched their own smellies, but the multibillion-pound perfume business which uses A-list stars to shift their scent. These are our favourite celeb perfume ads…

5. Brad Pitt – Chanel

Another Chanel No.5 ad, this time for men (or should that be pour homme?!). Back in 2012, Brad was on our screens saying, ‘It’s not a journey. Every journey ends, but we go on. The world turns and we turn with it. Plans disappear, dreams take over, but wherever I go, there you are: my luck; my fate; my fortune. Chanel No.5, inevitable.’ And while Brad looked mean and moody in this black and white ad, it was criticized for not making much sense. To be honest, it’s Brad Pitt, we don’t really care what he’s saying! Do you agree…

6. Scarlet Johansson & Matthew McConaughey – Dolce & Gabbana

None other than Martin Scorcese directed the 2013 ad, ‘Street of Dreams’. She may be 81, but Sophia looks blooming beautiful in the Dolce and Gabbana’s rose-inspired perfume campaign for Dolce Rosa Excelsa. Launched in February, the ad shows Sophia as a determined mother who isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty restoring a Sicilian villa. The plot ends with a party during which Sophia’s youngest son meets beautiful local girl, Rosa and presents her with a rose, and when Sophia arrives at the party, Rosa hands the rose to her. What more can you ask for?’ Catch her while you can…

When discussing the ad, the Star Trek star said, ‘I love the feeling of clarity and purpose that is so evident in the Code commercial.
